The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) Prepare & Recover web-page is a state maintained public education resource designed to prepare Virginians for all hazards, including natural disasters, active shooter incidents, potential terrorist attacks, and more. The Virginia Hurricane Evacuation Guide (PDF) is a useful PDF resource to download / printout and have on-hand during the Atlantic hurricane season which annually runs from June 1 to November 30.
