Volunteers play a significant role in the daily functions of County government, as well as within the community. New Kent receives valuable guidance from citizens who serve on a number of its boards and commissions.
Why should I volunteer?
People volunteer with the County for a myriad of different reasons. Some feel a distinct calling to give back to their community and take great pride in New Kent County. These individuals give of their time and talents unselfishly to make New Kent a better place for their family and future generations.
Many volunteer as a way to better their community, while others view volunteerism as a way to better themselves. There are many who opt to volunteer in a certain capacity to explore future career goals or possible changes, while others look for on-the-job experience.
Whatever your motivation, New Kent County may have a volunteer opportunity just waiting for you! We invite you to join our team and partner with us to work towards making New Kent "a great place to grow".
In order to ensure the safey of our citizens and employees, some volunteer positions may require a background check, including national and/or state criminal history record checks.
