New Kent County has a rich and storied history dating back to 1654. The area has seen tremendous growth over the past two decades and is one of the fastest growing counties in the Commonwealth. While technically a part of the Richmond Metropolitan area, New Kent remains a small rural community of just over 22,000 citizens. The contrast of rural and urban lies at the heart of New Kent County’s future, and this Strategic Plan is intended to provide a long-term vision to help the County grow without sacrificing its overall character and quality of life its citizens enjoy.
The Envision New Kent Strategic Plan will be purposeful and specific, creating a broad vision based on long-term goals and priorities. It will also serve as the foundation for the future comprehensive plan that will guide growth and development in New Kent County.
What does the future of New Kent County look like to you? We want to hear from and include all voices in the community.
