[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Vaccination Information

COVID VACCINE INFO WEB SIZE

New Kent County is currently in Phase 1b of COVID-19 vaccinations, and as the Virginia Department of Health’s availability of the COVID-19 vaccine increases, we will work with our local health district to move into other phases.  We will be focusing on the prioritization strategies outlined by the Governor and as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).  More information about who is eligible and what phase Virginia is in at any given time will be posted at www.vdh.virgnia.gov/covid-19-vaccine/.  Residents can best stay informed through the media, on our website and Facebook pages, and by visiting VDH’s FAQs at https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/covid-19-faq/.

The Chickahominy Health District, of which New Kent County is included, has updated their website homepage, https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/chickahominy/, to include COVID-19 resources. It includes a vaccine sign-up survey (new version - if you have filled out previous surveys, you do not need to to this again), and details on which phase we are in for vaccines locally. The sign-up survey can be accessed at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeN0IAwuMa8wUGp-rgFrOI-kmudHYmoJ4sGY2JAaubxiGxOuw/viewform.

New Kent County will also be opening a vaccination hotline soon for those with questions. More information on this is forthcoming next week.

While these vaccines are a light at the end of the tunnel, now is not the time to let down your guard. Everyone needs to continue to implement safe practices such as wearing a mask, physical distancing, and frequent hand hygiene.
