[ARCHIVED] Voluntary Non-Essential Water Use Restrictions

Water Emergency

New Kent Public Utilities is issuing Voluntary Non-Essential Water Use Restrictions for the Colonial Downs & Farms of New Kent Water Systems including the neighborhoods of Brickshire, Oakmont Villas, Bel Green, Four Seasons, The Arbors, Viniterra, Crestwicke, Quinton Estates, Greenwood Estates, Kenwood Farms, Deerlake & Rochambeau Estates.  This is not due to drought declaration by the Commonwealth but rather due to a combination of other factors, including most recently well pump failure at the Route 618 Water Pumping Station.   With the holiday weekend approaching citizen involvement is critical!  Demand is highest between 5:00 am & noon.  Please consider postponing your essential uses such as laundry & dishwashing until later in the day.  Non-essential water uses include:  lawn watering, car washing, house washing, pool filling & washing of hardscapes such as driveways or sidewalks.  For more information contact Public Utilities at 804 966 9678 or dpu.info@newkent-va.us.
