The 2022 New Kent County Personal Property Reports were mailed on 6/3/2022. THIS IS NOT A BILL. It is a notice of assessment (of your vehicle, trailer, camper, boat, etc.) and your opportunity to appeal assessment value or make changes to your account.
Assessments are:
Fair market value as required by the Constitution of Virginia; Article X Sec 2. & VA Code § 58.1-3503 directs the use of a “recognized pricing guide”
Based on ownership and location on January 1, 2022
Return report only if requesting a change.
Changes or appeal in assessment are made by returning form with required documentation. Please refer to back of report for specific requirements.
DEADLINE TO APPEAL IS JULY 1, 2022
ALL APPEALS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THIS DATE.
