Starting Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Dominion Energy, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, is replacing sirens with the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) that notifies both television and radio broadcasters of incidents at the power station and sends the messaging directly to cell phones. This allows authorities to provide information on a real-time basis.  Additional details about the transition to this alert system is available on the Dominion Energy website
