Sheriff's Office awarded sixth accreditation certificate

The New Kent County Sheriff’s Office was awarded their sixth Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission Accreditation Certificate during the New Kent Board of Supervisors Meeting on July 13, 2023. The award was presented by Sheriff Darrell Warren, Sheriff of Gloucester County and a VLEPSC Commission Member.
Sheriff Warren explained the accreditation process and the fact that this is a voluntary process during his presentation. The New Kent Sheriff’s Office received reaccreditation status at the VLEPSC meeting in Wytheville, VA on May 31, 2023. This is the fifth time that the New Kent Sheriff’s Office has experienced a reaccreditation assessment with no return and no issue found.
