What is and where do I apply for a VSMP permit?
The VSMP, or Virginia Stormwater Management Program permit, is a state requirement and issued by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). The VSMP permit is only required when the land disturbance exceeds 1 acre or more or the property will be served by public water, public sewer, or both. For more information regarding the VSMP permit please go to: http://www.deq.virginia.gov/Programs/Water/StormwaterManagement/VSMPPermits.aspx
