File a Complaint

It is the policy of the Building Official to make every effort to investigate complaints of code violations within 5 business days. Complaints may be made between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please leave as much detail as possible: address of violation, type of violation, name of property owner where violation is occuring, etc. The more information that we have, the quicker we can investigate. If you would like to file a complaint for code violations (you may give your name or not), you may do so 3 ways:

• Call the permit center at 804-966-9680 to speak to someone in the Permit Center.

• Fax your request to 804-966-8510.

• Email your request to permitcenter@co.newkent.state.va.us
