INSPECTION INFORMATION

Inspections are performed on the next business day if inspection request is submitted BEFORE 4:00 p.m. Inspections may be submitted in 3 ways:
Call the automated inspection line at 804-966-8572. The voice mail message will tell you on what day your inspection will be completed. Please leave the permit number, the type of inspection, and a return call number. For cancellations, please DO NOT call the inspection line. Please call 966-9680.

Starting in 2006 a Pre-construction inspection will be required for all Single Family Dwellings and Commercial projects that have been issued a Land Disturbing Permit. It is the responsibility of the Owner or the Developer to call the Permit Center and schedule an inspection after clearing is complete and Erosion and Sediment Control measures have been installed, and before building construction has commenced. You must have an APPROVED E & S inspection before any other inspections can be requested. Inspections can be scheduled by calling (804) 966-8572. Questions regarding Environmental inspections can be addressed to the Environmental Department at (804) 966-8580.
STARTING JULY 1, 2007, THERE WILL BE A $50 MISSED INSPECTION FEE INCURRED FOR EACH INSPECTION THAT IS NOT CALLED IN.
