Welcome to the New Kent County Sheriff's Office Website!  We are excited to offer the citizens of New Kent as well as the rest of the world, a look into our agency.   The Sheriff’s Office Serves a community of approximately 16,100 residents, commuters passing through, and those who work in New Kent 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.  We are a full service law enforcement agency operating a Uniformed Patrol Division, Administration, Criminal Investigations Division and Court Services/ Civil Division.

      The New Kent County Sheriff's Office has 36 full time and 15 part time employees dedicated to providing the highest standard of service to the citizens of New Kent County.

      On April 22, 2003 our office proudly became State Accredited by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission.  The Virginia Sheriff’s Association, Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Department of Criminal Justice Services make up the Commission.  The Accreditation Process consists of a systematic review of policies and procedures and the evaluation of standards set forth by the Commission.  On April 12, 2007 the New Kent County Sheriff's Office was re-accredited by the Commission.
