Responsibilities & Services
Virginia’s city and county treasurers are the chief financial officers for their localities, collecting revenues and local fees, and making payments on behalf of the local government. The treasurer is responsible for every form of revenue that comes into their locality including:
- Court, sheriff, and clerk fees
- Estimated business taxes
- License taxes
- Permit fees
- Personal property taxes
- Real estate taxes
- Water sewage charges
Treasurers also manage the investment of local funds and maintain records of local finances.
Online Payments
Use our
online payment system to pay bills for personal property, real estate, and utilities online. You may also make research tax payments. The system accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards.
