Due to the response received for the “Snapshot of New Kent” photo contest, the deadline for submitting photographs has been extended to June 15, 2010. County staff hopes that the extension of this deadline will allow all residents to capture their photographic idea of what New Kent County means to them.
Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and/or unique character of New Kent, Virginia in a single snapshot.
Residents of New Kent County 18 years of age and older are eligible to submit a maximum of two photographs for the “Snapshot of New Kent” contest.
Judges will evaluate all eligible submissions received by the June deadline and a first place overall competition winner will be chosen as well as an honorable mention winner. The first place winner will receive a gift bag full of New Kent County goodies and the honorable mention winner will receive a certificate. Both photographers will receive special recognition by the New Kent County Board of Supervisors.
Their work will also be on public display through use in print materials, Cox Cable 48 Channel, and the County of New Kent website. Digital or scanned entries will be added to New Kent County’s photo collection. The County reserves the right to edit, adapt and publish any or all of the photos submitted.
