The County Administration Office works directly with the New Kent County Board of Supervisors to carry out the following duties:
- Coordinate the functions of all other departments
- Carry out policies set by the Board of Supervisors
- Ensure that good customer service is provided by all departments
- Budget oversight and management
- Serve as a link for public information
- Provide support and resources to the Board of Supervisors
- Oversee County purchases and make sure they adhere to State purchasing policy
- Provide education on record management/retention
