Dominion slow rolls to impact traffic on I-64 in New Kent

Dominion Energy has scheduled a series of slow rolls on Interstate 64 in New Kent County to facilitate electric wire pulling work. Drivers should expect the following delays in 15-minute windows with 45-minute lifts in between to allow normal traffic flow:

The slow rolls will be in place on I-64 east and west near Eltham Road/Route 33 (mile marker 220) on the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, June 14, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Thursday, June 15-16, from 6 a.m. to Noon

Additionally, the westbound left lane will be closed at the same location from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday, June 13, and 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday, June 16.

The work is for Dominion’s Line 224 (Lanexa-Northern Neck) Electric Transmission Project. The goal of the project is to replace an aging electric transmission line to maintain reliable service for Dominion’s customers.
